Mesmer is my main, has been for about a year. It was the last class i tried, and i hated it to start with, but one day something just clicked and i've never looked back. There's a certain thrill in killing someone and them having no idea how!
I'm going to say controversial here (yay) i put it to you all that the Mesmer class is the most attractive to all artists. The very nature of the character is to be defiant of convention and explore the limits of their own reality, which, at a stretch, you could say is similar to what an artist may be attempting to achieve in their work.
Who knows, i dont anybody will have been bothered to read this far anyway so i'll just spew random cliches for my own enjoyment: WTF Laaaggg111 lol rfolcopterz n00b, fag 1111111111111, i am teh l33t.......

Hmm, I wouldn't say mesmers are the most attractive to artists. They have a very ordinary appearance compared to other classes. You're more likely to go out and see someone IRL that looks like (and is dressed like) a mesmer. Thinking about the artistic aesthetic, mesmer would make sense, but not all artists are sharp-dressed aristocrats a la Southeby's.

I have fun with necros because they have a variety of interesting skin tones, hair colors and over-the-top armor. In fact, the female necro has the most customizable appearance of any character in GW. Monks got the short end of the stick on customization, they didn't even have any extreme natural hair colors.

Well, I made a mesmer just because it was pretty ahaha. I am a physical damage/heavy armor character fan as far as play goes.. so yeah, my mesmer is neglected D:. But....the pretty!

My fave class to play is paragon- love both the play style and the armor. Next is warrior- love the play style but the armor choices are questionable. 15k Sunspear and Primeval are the best .

I could never make a pve elementalist because the armor is so fugly. I do have a pvp ele, which I made because I wanted one for AB and I wanted a Lucius Malfoy clone. I can forgive the rubber looking armor for pvp.

My primary character is my monk, which probably has nothing to do with being artistic, she just seems to match my personality. However, my second favorite profession to play is ele. I like the armor and cast animations. <3 the pretty blues of water magic.

I'm an actor by trade so I do a great deal of lying and manipulating of people and their emotions. As far as my personality I tend to play thieves, rogues, and the more 'undesirable' types. I'm also a horrible Goth Stereotype so Necromancer in GW ftw.

Short end of the stick? Try assassins, paragons and dervishes. Each of whom have like 6 hair colours, 6 hair styles, and 6 faces, most of which boring beyond belief. Not to mention ALL of their armor looks the same regardless of dye or set.

You're an assassin? You look like Solid Snake from Metal gear or a swiss army knife with skin.
Dervish? you look like a guy or girl in a hood and a dress. Everything else is minute changes in detail.
Paragon? How many different outfits can you wear sandals with and Look Greek? Oh yeah, no matter what colour you dye a paragons armor, it's still white. Always White, never anything else.

I believe male paragon had the most starting customization in one chapter. But you're talking about armor. Paragons did get screwed there. That's fine, because I know very few people who actually play their paragon well. Everyone else deleted theirs. Dervishes aren't that bad off. Sure, if you're a dork and buy just a straight set of armor from one style. Come on, if an artist wasn't happy with the way the armor looked, they'd scour the wiki for a perfect combination and buy three of each color dye just to test out every combo to find the look they want. I'm actually rather pleased with my dervish, as far as initial appearance, he looks kinda like Wayne Static.

But if you're convinced that Guild Wars has too little character appearance customization, here are some other games you should try out:
Rakion, 2Moons, Hero Online, Archlord (can't even pick gender), Rappelz (limited to 3 appearances)...
